  2. Essentially, the Constitution does forbid the Federal Government from dictating laws to the several states. In that respect, this is a bad idea.

    On the other hand, this is already accomplished in this sense. A valid driver’s license from any state is recognized in all other states. A valid marriage – even a same-sex marriage – in any state is recognized by all other states. I don’t see how concealed weapons permits should be different.

    Yes. A total removal of all laws restriction anyone who may legally own a firearm to have a firearm on person or in immediate control (like in a glove compartment) would be preferred. However, the Constitution forbids the federal government from deciding that for the states.

    U. S. Citizens lost much of their 2nd Amendment rights through a process of incremental actions, not all at once. I think ‘we’ have a better chance of getting them back incrementally. Would I prefer ‘fixing it all’ at once? Yes, I would. I just don’t think it likely.
